There are so many theme parks that are available for yearly travel within the boundaries of the United States these days that deciding on the perfect one for your family can be quite an arduous task. There are so many considerations to factor in. Of course, it has to be safe with lots of rides. There has to be other attractions. There needs to be places to eat in the park or nearby and it has to fit the family budget. The budget aspect is usually the stopping point for considerations of theme parks. Most theme parks, such as Disney World in Orlando Florida, are outrageously expensive. Once could barely afford the hotel bill alone! There is, however, a theme park in California that is affordable, has great service, and a set standard for excellence. This park is in Anaheim and is known far and wide as Knott’s Berry Farm.
The Boardwalk
This marvelous theme park offers so much to the visitor, that one would just about have to purchase a season pass to do and see it all. The park itself is cordoned off into five different sections, each section offering tons of rides. For example, in the Boardwalk Section you have the option of riding the Supreme Scream. This ride takes the riders’ way up into the air, almost three hundred feet. That’s 30 complete stories straight up. Then, in one sudden breathtaking moment, you plunge straight down for over two hundred and fifty feet. Then, as if you were on a giant rubber band, you bounce back up again. If you can’t handle a good adrenaline rush, then this is obviously not the ride for you!
Camp Snoopy
Then, over in the Camp Snoopy area of the park, the smaller children seem to have an entire theme park themselves with rides more suited to their own age range. One such ride is the Sierra Sidewinder. This is a thirty-seven mile per hour roller coaster ride where the kids don’t only go fast, but they go around and around in multiple twists and turns. After a moment on this kids action ride, the rider will not know if he is upside down or right side up! The kids park has a lot more rides for the kids to enjoy, some less extreme and some more, depending upon what the child and the parents feel comfortable with.
The Ghost Town
A few feet away and you will feel like you wandered into a different era instead of a different section. Your surroundings will go from modern day to old west in a heartbeat. You will walk through an old-school California town complete with cowboys packing guns, having shootouts and just being cowboys. Of course, there is the occasional pack of wild banditos that ride through town firing off their guns and just basically stirring up the locals. Once you have watched a gunfight or two, you’ll definitely want to give the GhotstRider ride a try. Here you will enter through an old cabin and ride an ancient ore train car through an old mountain gold mine.
There are more aspects of these parks and endless rides to take part in. There are also shops, shows, and restaurants so you and the kids can keep your energy up throughout your wild day of fun. You get all this and more for half the price you would pay at most theme parks. When you are discussing this year’s theme park vacation, check out the Knott’s Berry Farm in Anaheim California first. It is just as much fun with half the cash.
