One does not have to limit oneself to visiting any one of the Pocono Mountain resorts in the winter time. In fact as you will soon discover these resorts actually offer you the chance to visit this part of Pennsylvania at any time of year. Yes they do offer great skiing facilities but there are so many more activities that one can enjoy at the various Pocono Mountain resorts as well today.

Yes the Pocono Mountains are renowned for providing great skiing, snowboarding and snow tubing facilities in the winter. Yet there are plenty of other wonderful activities that one can enjoy in this part of Pennsylvania throughout the rest of the year including some great water and fun parks.

For a couple who just want to spend time together then resorts such as Paradise Stream and Caesar’s are the perfect place to spend time away. As for families there are numerous resorts in the Pocono Mountains that they can enjoy as well and below we take a look at some of these.

Fernwood Resort is situated close to the town of Bushkill and you can either stay in a studio room or a suite, or if you want to consider booking one of their 1 or 2 bedroom villas instead. The price of the rooms depending on what you book cost as little as $129 per night and go up to as much as $299 per night, but this is if you intend to stay midweek. Weekend prices can be considerably more expensive.

This resort offers a wide range of activities for the whole family to enjoy from basketball and tens, to indoor and outdoor swimming pools and a fitness centre. Plus if you want to just spend time exploring the area there are plenty of nature trails around the resort you can enjoy. However, the best thing about this resort is all that the activities we have mentioned are included in the price you pay for your room.

Skytop Lodge resort covers around 5,500 acres of land and you have a nice selection of accommodation to choose from. Either you stay in one of the resorts standard rooms or else you stay in one of the mini suites or cottages. At weekends there are events taking place run by naturalists which teach you more about the nature in the area surrounding the resort. Other things which the family can enjoy include trout fishing and also an indoor swimming pool.

The Woodlock Pines Resort is near to the town of Hawley which is in the northern part of the Pocono Mountains. The resort covers a total of 250 acres and there are plenty of activities to keep everyone amused especially the kids during your stay. Along with water skiing, there is a miniature golf course and games arcades. Plus it is perfectly situated for your to be able to explore the countryside as well.
