Whales in the water can be spotted by the occurrence of spouting. This could be a sign of whales nearby. Whale watching could be a very exciting adventure especially if you see these mammals breaching in the water.
Breaching is the leaping of whales almost completely out of the water and then falls down to make a big splash. It’s a very spectacular sight. You can also enjoy touching a whale when they do spyhopping, where they push themselves up and out of the water until he can see the surroundings including you.
Unfortunately, whale watching cannot be done throughout the year because whales migrate in certain times of the year. Whale watching in Cabo San Lucas in particular is done only from January to March.
In Magdalena Bay, a known sanctuary of whales in Cabo San Lucas, you can actually see the whales and their young especially during the season that whales calve in the sanctuary. It is also an added attraction that these young whales play in the water.
